Motion   Graphic

The world of motion graphics has always captivated me, sparking a journey of exploration and discovery in this dynamic art form. Although there's still a vast expanse of knowledge to conquer, my journey so far has deepened my appreciation for this craft. and hope to continue to be better at it

Sonder

Brief: Create a short video in whichever form, it can be an ad, film, experimental video or etc
Tools: Photoshop, After Effects Duration: 2 weeks

This project centers on the concept of Sonder, a profound awareness that every person, even strangers, leads a life as rich and intricate as our own, filled with unique circumstances and their own set of complexities.

In this project, I delved into a more complex coding through Javascript expressions within After Effects to automate certain recurring animations. If given more time beyond the allotted two weeks, I would like to add additional scenes as well as enhancing all of them with more secondary motions and illustrations.

You're the music to my ears

Brief: Create a short video in whichever form, it can be an ad, film, experimental video or etc
Tools: Photoshop, After Effects Duration: 2 weeks

Wake up. Scroll. Work. Sleep. Repeat.
But every so often, something breaks the cycle
Suddenly, the gray turns technicolor.
You’ve found your muse. And life? It feels alive again

It All Began with You

Brief: Create a character animation with a min duration of 30 seconds
Tools: Procreate Duration: 2 weeks

After losing our dog, Tofu, and as a slightly obsessed animal lovers, I wanted to to create a tribute that captures the essence of how pets transform ordinary moments into extraordinary ones, and how they make us yearn to share with them, even the simplest to the grandest experiences, because everything feels special in their presence.

This project was completed using frame-by-frame animation in Procreate. Employing this method requires immense patience and trusting the process. Although I might not choose this approach again in the future, it, nevertheless, gave me a better understanding of how animation works.

Vertigo Title Sequence (Typography)

Brief: Create a Kinetic Typograhy video with a max duration of 60 secs
Tools: After Effect & Illustrator Duration: 2 weeks

For this kinetic typography project, I wanted to pay homage to Vertigo (1958), a pioneering film in computer animation, alongside the works of Saul Bass and Alfred Hitchcock.

Though the focus is on kinetic typograhy,  I added some illustrative and graphic elements to enrich the scenes. A major challenge I faced was balancing the length of the credit texts with the tempo of the theme song. Reflecting on feedback recieved, I realized now that I should have given more consideration to extending the display time of certain texts.

Once Upon a Cloud

Tools: Adobe Aero, After Effect & Illustrator Duration: 2 weeks

This project is inspired by illustrations and stories found in children books  and childhood imagination with a twist added to the story.

Although I largely achieved the envisioned outcome, in retrospect, I should have paid closer attention to the project brief. The project's direction needed to be more tailored to Augmented Reality (AR) use case, a detail I initially misunderstood. By the time I realized this, the asset creation and conceptual development had progressed too far for me to effectively adjust the storyline to suit its intended use in AR
